‘10 Sept Ko Rain Nahi Bachane Wali Pakistan Ko’ – Fans react as Pakistan beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in Asia Cup 2023

Pakistan side slowly and steadily chased down the easy target of 194 runs against Bangladesh in Asia Cup 2023, despite losing Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam early for the score of 20 (31) and 17 (22). But Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan stabilise the innings and with their knocks. The Men in Green chased down the target with 63 balls remaining. Now Pakistan will face India in the Super Four clash in Colombo on September 10. It is pertinent to mention that the group game between both sides was washed out. 

Earlier in the game, the Shakib Al Hasan-led side won the toss and elected to bat first. Bangladesh lost two early wickets within the span of the first five overs. The two experienced batters in the side, Shakib and Mushfiqur Rahim, scored fifty to stabilize the innings with 53 (57) and 64 (87), respectively. However, when Shakib got out on the 29th over and Mushfiqur on the 37th, the rest of the batting lineup failed against the Men in Green bowlers. In the end, the Bangladesh side was bowled out for 193 runs in 38.4 overs. 

Pakistan outclassed Bangladesh with their pace attack 

For the Babar Azam-led side, pacer Haris Rauf led the attack with four wickets for 19 runs. Naseem Shah also made his mark, picking up three wickets for 34 runs. The duo performed well along with Shaheen Shah Afridi who didn’t have a great game as he picked one wicket and went for 42 runs in seven overs. However, in the spin bowling department, Iftikhar Ahmed claimed the wickets of Shamim Hossain while Shadab Khan went wicketless. 

The Super four teams are decided for the Asia Cup 2023 as Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan in the close encounter in Lahore by two runs. The Indian side after beating Nepal in their second game of the season, reached the Super 4 of the continental championship and will face Pakistan on September 10 in Colombo for the knockout fixture. Whereas for Group B, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are in the knockout clashes.
