‘17 guys stormed at the office…’ – Ramiz Raja makes more scathing revelations about PCB

Days after facing the axe by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the ex-PCB Chairman on December 26, Monday, addressed the fans in a virtual session, in an hour-long video, where he made some shocking claims and revelations. Not only did he lambast his successor Najam Sethi he also spoke about the mistreatment he had to cope with after being sacked as the PCB chief.

Raja said that the board was attacked in such a manner that he was not allowed to pick up his stuff. He further narrated that, early in the morning, there were 17 people who stormed the office, as if the “Federal Investigation Agency of Pakistan” raided the office.

“Aisa inhone hamla kiya cricket board mein aake. Mera saman bhi nahi lene diya inlogo ne (The way they attacked the cricket board, they didn’t even let me take my stuff),” said Raja in the video that was posted on his YouTube channel. “Subah yeh 9 baje, 17 bande dhandate fir rahe the cricket board mein. Jaise ki koi FIA ka chapa par gaya.” (Early morning at 9 around 17 guys stormed at the office, which felt as if the Federal Investigation Agency of Pakistan has raided the office).

The PCB took note of the explosive comments made by their former chairman and also issued a clarification about the subject. The chief operating officer of the board, Salman Naseer posted on Twitter at midnight, confirming that all his belongings were collected by him and are secured in PCB custody.

“All belongings of @iramizraja were collected by me as COO of @TheRealPCB prior to arrival of @najamsethi on the morning of being notified and have been safely kept in PCB custody and will ofcourse be returned as a part of usual handing over/taking over process,” wrote Naseer on Twitter.

Raja was appointed as the PCB chairman in September 2021 by the then Pakistan Prime Minister and former Pakistan captain Imran Khan. He held the chair for 15 months, and a 3-0 whitewash in the recently-concluded series to England at home, came only moments before he saw the end of his stint with the board.
