India is set to play in the semi-final of the 20-20 World Cup against five-time champions Australia. Australia is unbeaten going into this game and would want to retain the championship by winning their next two matches.
India have lost only one game in this tournament which was a close game against England. It would be a big upset if India comes out on top tomorrow against Australia. All the Indian team players have to play like a unit if they want to beat this strong Australian side. Let’s take a look at the Indian side that will play the semi-final tomorrow.
Predicted XI for India Women vs Australia Women : –
Top Order
Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Varma, Jemimah Rodriguez, Harmanpreet Kaur
The Indian team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana was at it’s brilliant best once again as she played a magnificent knock of 87 against Ireland in their last game. The other opener, Shafali Verma has had a tough going this tournament but still can be very lethal against Australia. If she gets going, it would be very tough to stop her.
Jemimah Rodriguez, the match winner for India against Pakistan is also a key player in the Indian line-up. She provides the much needed stability in the batting order and her temperament towards each and every game is spot on right from the start. Harmanpreet Kaur, the skipper is calm and composed during chases but knows she has the ability to hit big when needed. Her leadership needs to be on point for India to stand any chance against Australia
WK and All-rounders
Harleen Deol, Richa Ghosh (Wk), Pooja Vastrakar, Deepti Sharma
In a Tri-Series final match against South Africa, all-rounder Harleen Deol, 24, helped India to a solid total of 109/4 with her innings of 46 off 56 balls. Pooja Vastrakar, a 23-year-old bowler, claimed two wickets in the Tri-series match against the West Indies. Later, in the exhibition game against Australia, she went on to claim two wickets. She can serve as a crucial cog for India once more.
Richa Ghosh, a 19-year-old with a reputation for hard striking When playing Australia in the 20-20 World Cup semifinal, Ghosh will be looking for another massive win. While going without a wicket with the ball, Deepti Sharma, a dependable all-rounder, has already hit 19* off 22 balls against Australia in the warm-up game. She needs to be at her clinical best once again if India would want to have any chance at the final on Sunday.
Bowlers
Renuka Singh Thakur, Radha Yadav, Shikha Pandey
In the Tri-Series, Renuka failed to pick up a wicket against the West Indies but had several against South Africa. Renuka, who is 27 years old, has taken 31 wickets in as many T20I games. Radha, a left-arm spinner, defeated Australia by taking two wickets while allowing only 22 runs to be scored in three overs. She has only taken two wickets in this competition, so she will be looking for a stronger showing tomorrow.
The seasoned pacer, Shikha Pandey was the best bowler against Australia, taking two wickets and allowing only nine runs to be scored in three overs. She will attempt to play well with the ball against Australia once more.
