4 Indian players rested for final ODI against Australia
Team India has been gearing up to whitewash the series against Australia on September 27 at Rajkot. Notably, the Men in Blue have arrived at the Rajkot and are set to start their practice soon ahead of the final ODI match. According to the sources, India’s star batter Shubman Gill and star pacer Shardul Thakur have been rested for the last ODI.
However, some reports claim that Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Shami will also miss the third ODI, which is all set to start in less than 24 hours. Notably, Mohammed Shami has played the first two ODIs against Australia, where the right-arm pacer registered a 5-wicket haul in the first ODI at Mohali, while Hardik Pandya has been rested in the first two ODIs and is now set to miss the final also.
Meanwhile, India’s star batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be playing the third ODI after skipping the first two, as the management decided to give them a mental break ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023. In addition, India’s right-arm pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, has also joined the squad after missing the second ODI in Indore. Notably, Prasidh Krishna was named as the replacement at his place, who had scalped two wickets during the play.
Team India has already clinched the series by 2-0 against Australia
Notably, it clearly seems that Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan will open the innings in the absence of great opener Shubman Gill. Following them, India’s stalwart Virat Kohli will bat at number 3. KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are set to bat at numbers 4 and 5, whereas star batter Suryakumar Yadav will get the nod at number 6.
Following them, star all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin will make their way in the absence of Axar Patel, who sustained injuries during the Asia Cup 2023. Notably, one can witness Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav as the bowlers in the playing eleven against the strong visiting side.
Meanwhile, Team India has already clinched the series by 2-0, with the last match set to go on September 27 at Rajkot. Notably, the upcoming clash will be the last and final game ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023.
