‘That means marsh is replacing C Green’- Fans reacts as Mitchell Marsh was spotted taking run-up just before Ashes 2023

Mitchell Marsh has been selected in Australia’s 17-man team for the Ashes for the first time in four years. Marsh has been introduced to the roster as a backup option for Cameron Green after suffering multiple disappointing injuries.  He was observed setting out on his runup for the first Test, indicating that the 32-Test veteran will participate in Andrew McDonald’s first-choice XI for the crucial series.

Scott Boland looks to have won his bid to join skipper Pat Cummins in the Australian attack, perhaps implying that two of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Cameron Green would miss the first Test. Hazlewood as well marked out his run-up afterwards.

Mitchell Marsh: ‘I am very proud to come back to the Test side’

“I am very proud to come back to the Test side. I am really proud to be in the squad. I had ankle surgery five-six months ago, and now I am part of the Ashes Series in England. It will be my third Ashes in England, which is great. I am looking forward to it. Hopefully, I will stay long (this time). I will be a backup for Cameron Green there,” Marsh said.

His first and only Test century came in an Ashes match against Australia in Perth in 2017. Marsh was handed a national contract for the 2018-19 season, however, he did not appear regularly in either of Australia’s sides.

On the opening day of the first Ashes Test, players from England and Australia will wear black armbands and conduct a minute’s tribute to remember the victims of a knife and car rampage in Nottingham, England, earlier this week. Three individuals were stabbed to death, including Barnaby Webber and Grace Kumar, two young students who loved cricket.

England has won 11 of 13 Tests since captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum took over and developed a fan-friendly, cavalier, failure is OK approach that has freed the team’s inner beast. Stuart Broad has said that England’s stunning Bazball has given him the best year of his sports life.
