WWE set to impose Shane McMahon’s big ideas next week, will feature ‘next Brock Lesnar’

WWE is planning to bring one of Shane McMahon’s pet projects in the upcoming week. Although the project failed previously, the fans are excited to see how they are gonna work out on it this time. McMahon’s proposed RAW Underground will be brought back as NXT Underground next week, and Gable Steveson will be involved.

In this week’s episode of WWE NXT, we saw RAW Underground being recapped during the show. In the coming week, Eddie Thorpe is set to take on Damon Kemp in the show. Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson will also be involved. RAW Underground was the original idea by Shane McMahon. Although he ran it, ultimately, it was cancelled.

Meanwhile, Steveson has finally started appearing on WWE TV and it seems like he is training Thorpe at the moment. There will be no ropes or turnbuckles at the show, much like the original RAW Underground. It is likely that the victory will come either by submission, KO, or referee stoppage, a lot like MMA rules. There will be no pinfall. Steveson has taken on the mantle of the legitimate wrestler and has been training Thorpe ahead of the match.

Steveson was signed back by WWE in 2021

Having legitimate credentials like having won two Olympic gold medals, Steveson was signed back by WWE in 2021. However, they have not used him on TV until recently. The original plans were to present him as the “next Brock Lesnar,” but it seems like the plans have changed since then.

Steveson and the company are committed to working together. However, there is one who is stumbling block: Steveson aspires to compete in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Since the pandemic delayed the previous games by a year, he now has a unique opportunity to battle for gold twice.

He was supposed to wrestle Triple H on the grandest stage which would have been a career-defining moment for the aspiring wrestler. Unfortunately, Triple H’s health difficulties forced him to retire from wrestling and instead focus on the show.
