‘Achha h ek opener and ek WK nhi hai’ – Fans react as Stuart Broad reveals his wife’s favourite player

Star England pacer Stuart Broad has been phenomenal throughout his career. In the ongoing Ashes against Australia, Broad has taken 16 wickets in three games. However, Broad revealed that despite his amazing performances, he is his wife’s second favourite player.

Broad revealed that his wife, Molly, told him that Chris Woakes is his favourite cricketer. Broad wrote this for the Daily Mail after the England all-rounder scored the game-winning run in the second inning at Headingly. The 34-year-old took six wickets and closed the fourth innings with an unbeaten 32 to help the team bat down a challenging 251.

“Woakesy’s just an amazing cricketer. My wife, Mollie, told me he was her favourite player, to which I replied, ‘What about me?’ She said, ‘You’re second.’ Thanks very much. The biggest compliment I can pay him is that he’s helped win two World Cup finals, but last week at Headingley was the most important all-round contribution he has made”, Broad wrote in his column.

“England are a better team with Mark Wood”, says Stuart Broad

In further writing about England and their bowlers, Broad said that his team is better with Mark Wood. “England is a better team with Wood in it—not just because of his extra pace, which is a thrill to watch from close up, but because of the energy he brings. I didn’t see him on all fours in the Headingley dressing room barking like a dog, which is what Ollie Robinson has suggested, but worryingly, I can believe it”, says Broad.

It’s worth noting that in the third Test of the ongoing series, Wood made a great comeback with a match-winning performance. He took seven wickets by giving up 100 runs in the game and scored 40 runs off just 16 balls in two innings. This helped England keep the series alive, and his performance earned him the Player of The Match award in Headingley.
