Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are two of the most influential Footballers in the world. The impact of the two athletes on the sport has been phenomenal. The two have played club Football for a long time and have immense experience. In their long career, the two have represented different teams in club Football, but most of their career was for European clubs. Messi played most of his for FC Barcelona and Ronaldo for Real Madrid FC.

Recently, the two players have moved out of the European leagues. Last year, Cristiano Ronaldo made a move to Al-Nassr for a huge money deal. Very similar to Ronaldo, Messi had a big money offer from a Saudi Pro League club. But the Argentine player instead chose the American way and signed the deal with Inter Miami in MLS.

When asked about Messi’s move to the American League, the Portuguese star was quick to answer that the Saudi League is better. “The Saudi league is better than MLS. I opened the way to the Saudi league, and now all the players are coming here” said the Al-Nassr captain after his game against Celta Vigo in a friendly game.

‘Saudi League will overtake Turkish and Dutch Leagues’ – Ronaldo

After Ronaldo, many high-profile players like N’Golo Kante, Roberto Firmino, Karim Benzema, and Ruben Neves joined leagues in the middle east. The Portugal captain also felt that the Saudi league can surpass leagues like the Turkish league and the Dutch league soon. “In one year, more and more top players will come to Saudi. In a year the Saudi league will overtake the Turkish league and Dutch league,” Ronaldo added.

The 38-year-old also confirmed his future of never returning to the European leagues again. “I am 100 percent sure I won’t return to any European club. I am 38 years old. And European football has lost a lot of quality. The only valid one and still doing good is the Premier League. They’re way ahead of all the other leagues” concluded Ronaldo.
