‘A break of two or 11 months doesn’t….’ – Australia’s legendary pacer makes bold statement on Jasprit Bumrah’s comeback
India’s star pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, is all set to make his comeback during the upcoming tour of Ireland. Notably, the 29-year-old has been named captain for the three-match T20I against Ireland. In addition, the great seamer’s comeback ahead of the Asia Cup and World Cup is a big boost for Rohit Sharma’s side. Moreover, the great seamer has missed the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup in 2022, as well as the World Test Championship Final in June 2023.
Meanwhile, all cricket fans and experts are eager to see Jasprit Bumrah donned in a blue jersey. Speaking on the same subject, former Australian cricketer Glenn McGrath has lauded the India bowlers’ skill set.

In addition, the former Australian bowler affirms that Bumrah has enough experience and that the pacer has a lot of practice games ahead of the ODI World Cup. Moreover, the former right-arm pacer feels that Bumrah will get into the groove very soon despite being out of games for the past eleven months. Furthermore, the 53-year-old legendary cricketer feels that a break of 11 months will not make much difference; it’s only about getting back into the swing.
“He’s got enough experience. He has enough games before the World Cup to test himself. Eleven months is a long time out of the game, but if you are coming off an off-season and you want to get into it, hopefully, that only takes a few games. Back when I played, we had an off-season. A break of two or 11 months doesn’t make much of a difference. It’s just about getting back into the swing,” Glenn McGrath said, being quoted by Hindustan Times.
Meanwhile, like Jasprit Bumrah, the great pacer Prasidh Krishna is also set to make his comeback during the tour against Ireland. In addition, KL Rahul is also fit ahead of the Asia Cup and will be available for his selection. Moreover, it is expected that the great batter Shreyas Iyer will return to the squad ahead of the 50-over World Cup.
