WATCH: Seth Rollins gets emotional as he dedicates heartfelt promo to late Bray Wyatt at WWE live event

A few days ago, the former wrestling champion Windham Rotunda, better known by his ring name Bray Wyatt, left the WWE Universe in tears. The American professional left the world at the age of 36 after suffering a heart attack.

The demise of Wyatt was announced by WWE chief content officer Paul Paul “Triple H” Levesque on his official Twitter account. “Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda – also known as Bray Wyatt – unexpectedly passed earlier today,” the former WWE superstar tweeted.

Many wrestlers across various promotions paid tribute to Wyatt, who still had many bouts left in his career. During Saturday’s WWE live event in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins dedicated a promo for Wyatt. Rollins, who clashed numerous times with the late former Universal Champion, broke down in tears at the end of the latest WWE SuperShow.

I will think of him for the rest of my career: Seth Rollins

An emotional Rollins said that watching fans raise their phones with the flashlight on his way to the ring reminded him of Wyatt. The 37-year-old associated the “firefly” gesture with Wyatt and promised everyone he would think of his colleague for the rest of his career.

“Every time I do my entrance and this song comes out, I see some lights in the crowd. Even before this week (…), I always thought of Windham. And (…) [breaks into tears]. And in a weird way, it was a tribute to him, something that I took for him, but I promise you guys I will think of him for the rest of my career every single time I see these fireflies,” Rollins said.

His heartwarming speech was well received by the WWE fraternity, and especially by the live audience who sang Wyatt’s theme music in unison. Rollins, the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion in his first reign, thanked the fans for being a great audience and supporting the wrestlers.
