‘Yeh tho kadwa saach bol raha hai’ -Fans react after Mohammad Asif makes controversial comments on Agha Salman and Babar Azam

Pakistan recently announced their World Cup squad just before the start of the tournament in India. Hasan Ali was called back into the setup and Faheem Ashraf was considered. Babar Azam will lead the side. Shadab Khan also retains his vice-captaincy amidst reports of him losing the post. On another note, Mohammad Hafeez left Pakistan’s technical committee just ahead of the World Cup. This could mean the signs are not good for Pakistan Cricket.

Mohammad Asif meanwhile is making the headlines again. The former Pakistan speedster made some controversial statements about Babar Azam and Salman Agha which cooked up a storm on social media. “I can bowl a maiden over to Babar Azam in T20 cricket even today, he cannot hit the ball if you bowl good deliveries to him’ Asif wrote in a tweet about Babar. ‘I don’t consider Agha Salman as a player, he’s a waste of time. Even I can score the number of runs he scores. He only scores when Pakistan has already scored a lot of runs as a team”, Asif said about Salman.

This left fans in a tizzy as there were a lot of comments on the matter on social media. A few fans said that this is not the time to spread negativity and hate ahead of the big tournament. The technical committee of Pakistan sat along with the coaching staff of Pakistan and in that meeting, it was said that the coaches were reluctant to bring in any changes in terms of their coaching style and they were happy with the methods that they were going with.
