Anshul Jubli all set to create history at UFC 294 for India

Anshul Jubli all set to create history at UFC 294 for India. The 28-year-old will be only the second Indian to feature in the UFC Octagon after Bharat Khandare. In 2017, Khandare created history for India by becoming the first Indian to do so, which paved the way for several young fighters like Anshul. He will face Mike Breedan in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night.

“It means a lot. Indian people are very patriotic people, they want to represent their country, and they want to do something for their country, in my career, I have this chance to represent India and I think that’s the most important thing for me right now,” said Anshul about representing India at the highest level in the unique sport. Anshul has a good record in the recent past.

In the last seven fights, Jubli is unbeaten and seems ready for the challenge of Breedan. The 34-year-old does not have that great a record in the event. In the ten pro bouts, Breedan has lost 6 bouts has lost six. Three of them came in his last 3 appearances. Jubli though, is wary of his opponent and claims to not take him lightly in any capacity.

‘I am better everywhere, I can finish him everywhere’ – Anshul Jubli

The Indian fighter was confident about his chances. Jubli felt happy about meeting Dana White after his pro-fights. “I’ve been winning for a very long time. I’ve won 13 amateur fights and seven pro fights, so winning is not new to me, but after the fight, when I met Dana White, that was special. Now we have started, now I am a UFC fighter,” said the Indian fighter.
