‘Kin bhookad log ko le ke aa gye’ – Fans trolls Imam-ul-Haq for saying Pakistan batters have to eat more protein to hit sixes

The Pakistan team is all set to lock horns against Afghanistan for their fifth game of the ODI World Cup 2023 on October 23 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Notably, the Men in Blue are currently in the fifth spot in the points table. Babar Azam and Co. have won their first two games against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka; however, Team India and five-time world champions Australia have thrashed them in the ODI World Cup 2023.

However, Men Green was unable to hit a single six against arch-rivals India on October 14. Following the same, Indian reporters asked Iman-ul-Haq the reason for Men in Green not hitting the shots in the powerplay. Notably, Pakistan’s opening batsman, Imam-ul-Haq, came up with some dietary suggestions and said that their side needed to take more proteins to hit the sixes.

“Maybe we want to eat more proteins and not that much carbs, but it is just that there is nothing we want to talk about. It is just we do not feel it if we are not hitting six or not four, it is just that what are we doing for the team,” Imam-ul-Haq said.

Every individual has their preparations: Imam-ul-Haq

The left-handed batsman accepted that their side has not had much time to bounce back in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, as they have already lost two games out of four. In addition, the 27-year-old reveals that they have prepared themselves to perform well against Afghanistan’s side on the spin-friendly pitch for their upcoming clash in Chennai.

” We don’t have that much time…but the thing is it’s just that – yes, this is a spin venue ground, and we know that, and the guys individually really depend on how they practice, and it’s just that every individual has their preparations and we back them, we back their ability, and it’s just that’s how it is,” he added further.
