Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan gets ruled out of Australia’s BBL owing to back injury
Afghanistan star cricketer Rashid Khan has been ruled out of Australia’s Big Bash League owing to a back injury. Notably, the great cricketer is set to undergo surgery, which will make him miss Australia’s league for the upcoming edition. Notably, the star cricketer was last seen in action during the ODI World Cup 2023 in host country India.
The Afghanistan cricket team finished their journey in the sixth spot with four wins out of nine games in the ODI World Cup 2023, which makes them qualify for the Champions Trophy 2025 set to take place in Pakistan. Notably, the Shahidi-led Afghan side performed extremely well in the tournament, as they went on to beat some of the top teams in the marquee recently.
The Afghan team has proved themselves to be the second-best team in the Asian country, owing to their great performances. The Afghan team has beaten England, Pakistan, the Netherlands, and Sri Lanka which gave a remarkable end to the campaign.
However, Adelaide Strikers general manager Tim Nielson has confirmed the news that Rashid Khan has opted out of the BBL. Tim said in the statement that the franchise will miss him this summer as he has been a very special part of the league for the past 7 years and has given great performances for the side.
However, the manager of the franchise sends him good wishes to get well soon and have successful surgery on his back. However, the manager and the staff will announce a replacement very soon.

“Rashid is a beloved member of the Strikers and a fan favorite who has been with us for seven years, so he will be extremely missed this summer,” Adelaide Strikers general manager Tim Nielson said in a statement.
“Rashid loves Adelaide and the Strikers, and we know how much he loves playing in the BBL, and we support him as he has treatment for this injury to ensure his long-term involvement in the game.
“Our list management and coaching staff will now look at our options for replacing Rashid for the upcoming season and a replacement player will be announced in due course,” he added.
