Ange Postecoglou gives honest opinion on Tottenham’s performance in this season

Ange Postecoglou has attacked Tottenham Hotspur on their performance in the ongoing season. He has claimed that Tottenham lack the desire to win matches, as their losing streak continues in the ongoing league. Postecoglou talked about many issues Tottenham currently have in their lineup and stressed that the club has a long way to go. Postecoglou felt that the conviction in the team had not been visible.

“We had some unbelievable chances. For us, it’s another game, like the Aston Villa game and other games earlier this year. I said during the week our attacking play has a long way to go. In general, we have a long way to go, and tonight was more evidence of that,” Postecoglou was quoted as saying by Times Live.

He felt that one must not just make statements about being in the middle to win the matches, but actually prove the same by doing so. He added that their attacking play has gone downhill a huge way and does not seem to get better anytime soon. The honest review of Postecoglou can be appreciated.

“This isn’t about us playing good football. It’s about us winning games. I set teams up to win games and 1-0 at halftime was not a good performance from us,” said Postecoglou.

Postecoglou believed that playing good Football means nothing unless one could not win games. He added that to be at 1-0 during halftime was not enough, as he wanted to see them take the attack totally on the opposition. Postecoglou believed that Tottenham should have scored 3 or 4 goals in the first half without conceding any.

“A good performance would have been 3-0 or 4-0 up. It’s not having that conviction in front goal to finish teams off. As simple as that. Sometimes we can disguise how we’re going by playing some nice stuff, but like I said from day one, that’s not what I’m about. I want to win and that’s why I came to this football club and that’s the message,” concluded Postecoglou.
