Australian Open 2023
5 players who have won Australian Open Men’s singles titles most times
The Australian Open has a special place in the hearts of tennis fans. It is the first of the four Grand Slams of the year, preceding the French Open, the Wimbledon and the US Open.
Novak Djokovic, the undisputed tennis king of Melbourne, won his tenth Australian Open title this year after defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas. As such, who are the players with the most men’s singles titles in the Australian Open?
Here’s the list:
5. Ken Rosewall -4
The first entry in this list is that of yet another Australian Legend who won the title four times. However, he did so 37 years after Jack Crawford’s achievement of the same feat. Ken Rosewall won his first men’s singles title in just the third year (1953) of his participation in the Australian Open. His latest title came in the year 1972. The 88-year-old retired in the year 1980 after 24 years of professional Tennis and 8 Grand Slams. He has two men’s singles titles each in the French Open and the US Open.
The American tennis star Andre Agassi has also won the men’s singles title at the Australian Open. He only misses out on a full entry into this list based on his timing of achieving the feat; Agassi completed his haul of four titles in the year 2003.
