‘A great batsman praising a great bowler’ – Fans react as former RCB star hails Mohammed Siraj over Asia Cup 2023 heroics
India’s star pacer Mohammed Siraj’s 6-wicket haul helped Team India win the title of the Asia Cup 2023 on September 17 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Notably, the right-arm pacer’s magnificent bowling spells helped Rohit Sharma and Co. bundle out defending champions Sri Lanka for just 50 runs to clinch the 8th title of the Continental Cup. Following his great heroics, the great seamer has been receiving praise from several former cricketers and experts.
Notably, former South African cricketer AB de Villiers is one of them. The legendary cricketer heaps praise on India’s bowler while calling his attitude never giving up. In addition, the batting legend feels Siraj wasn’t scared of anything, as he tried hard to dismiss the batters. The 39-year-old also says that Sri Lanka’s batter might have felt the scare against Siraj’s bowling during the play.
“The bowlers that I respected most are the guys that never gave up, that would always complete every single ball, be in your face. That’s what Mohammed Siraj does well. He’s not scared of trying his short ball. He’s there in the batter’s face and is always trying to get you out. The batters can feel that and Sri Lanka certainly felt that in the final,” AB de Villiers said on his YouTube channel.

The former RCB star batter says it was a fantastic turnaround for the great seamer and a big boost ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023. In addition, the former wicketkeeper-batsman says Siraj didn’t feel the pressure of the final as well as believe in his right attitude. Mr. 360 has called him the perfect fast bowler after his Asia Cup 2023 heroics.
“What a fantastic turnaround from that start for Mohammed Siraj. Simply incredible by Siraj. Some soft wickets there – the pressure of a final. But the thing that stands out is he keeps trying. His attitude is spot on. The perfect fast bowler, if I can say that,” he added further.
