The Australians welcomed Josh Hazlewood and Alex Carey into the team. Spencer Johnson made his ODI debut for the Australian side.

India made one change to their team. Prasidh Krishna replaced Jasprit Bumrah in the playing XI. The 29-year-old flew back home to be with his family and will come back for the Rajkot ODI.

Michael Vaughan predicts the Indian score on Twitter–

Former England captain, Michael Vaughan took to Twitter during the 2nd India-Australia game. Vaughan took to the social media platform and wrote, “India on the way to 400..”. This was after the Indian batting unit had made a quick start to their batting innings.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill came out to open for India. The very first ball of the game bowled by Spencer Johnson was hit for a four. The opening over saw India score 13 runs. Josh Hazlewood found his rhythm and kept the scoring rate under check.

India lost their first wicket when Gaikwad was caught behind by Alex Carey off Hazlewood for 8. Shreyas Iyer came into bat as the Indore crowd roared in delight. The Indian number-3 batter signalled his intentions right from the start.

India then went after the Australian bowlers during the first ten overs. The Indian team reached 80 runs from the first ten overs with just one wicket lost. This is an important match for Shreyas Iyer who has been struggling for form. The 28-year-old is just making his way back to the team after a lengthy injury lay-off.

The Indian team holds a 1-0 lead after winning the Mohali ODI on Friday. KL Rahul and his side won the game by 5 wickets. Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul, and Surya Kumar had scored half-centuries. Mohammad Shami, was the star with the ball as he picked 5/51 which was his career-best figure.
