‘Aaj ye karke aaya hai’ – Fans react to Hardik Pandya taking the wickets of the Australian top order in the third ODI

At the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Australia captain Steve Smith won the toss and decided to bat first against India in the series finale. Australia made two changes to the team, while India kept the same starting lineup. Cameron Green and Nathan Ellis were replaced by Ashton Agar and David Warner.

What happened in the first two 50-over games in the series between India and Australia?

The first ODI between the two teams took place at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium after India successfully defended its Border Gavaskar Trophy. The Australians had set a target of 188, which the Men in Blue easily cleared to win by five wickets. Their happiness was temporary, though, as Australia levelled the series in the second one-day international by first dismissing India for 117 at Visakhapatnam, and then successfully chasing it down without losing a wicket.

After Steve Smith won the toss and elected to bat in the series-deciding game today in Chennai, Australia’s opening pair of Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head got things going quickly. In order to assist India to wrest control away from Australia, Hardik Pandya quickly dismissed Head after the pair had put up 68 runs for the first wicket.

India gained a much-needed breakthrough thanks to Hardik Pandya. Upon getting caught by Kuldeep Yadav at third man, Travis Head was out for 33. Earlier in the same over, Shubman Gill dropped him for 27.

In Pandya’s very next over, Hardik Pandya claimed his second wicket. He tosses it back a length this time, outside off, baiting Smith into taking a drive. Smith followed suit identically and generated an edge that landed in KL Rahul’s gloves. Smith left the ground without bothering the scorer board.

Marsh received an inside edge on a full delivery from Hardik in his third over, causing him to drag the ball back onto the stumps. He was knocked down for 47 in 47 balls. Hardik was at it again as he took a stunning catch to dismiss David Warner off Kuldeep Yadav’s bowling.
