‘It doesn’t matter whether you or I like it or not…’ – Aakash Chopra’s bold verdict on India’s potential XI for ODI World Cup 2023 clash vs Bangladesh

Team India is all set to take on Bangladesh on October 19 at MCA in Pune for their fourth clash of the ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, the Men in Blue have won all three of their games of the ongoing marquee event and placed themselves in the number two spot in the points table. Meanwhile, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has talked about the possible changes India can make in the clash against Bangladesh at the ODI World Cup 2023.

The well-renowned cricket commentator shuts down the rumours of playing star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the play. Notably, the former India opener feels the Men in Blue won’t be playing the game with extra spinner, as he feels spinner won’t play well during the IPL only, so there is less possibility of them playing in the ODI World Cup 2023, especially against the subcontinent team.

“Will India make a change? I don’t think they will make a change because according to me there is no chance at all to play an extra spinner here. Why would you play Ravichandran Ashwin here?. The spinners don’t work here in the IPL and this is a World Cup match. Why would you play another spinner against a subcontinental team? So there won’t be any change in my opinion,” Aakash Chopra said.

However, the cricket analyst feels there are a lot of talks about Mohammed Shami replacing Shardul Thakur in the XI, but it won’t happen. Moreover, the Mumbai-born cricketer feels the Men in Blue won’t be featuring LSG star Mohammed Shami over Shardul Thakur, as Team India needs a batsman at number 8.

“You can repeatedly discuss the scope for one change, whether Shami can play in place of Shardul, but that is also not going to happen, because India won’t do that. India need a batter at No. 8. It doesn’t matter whether you or I like it or not,” he added further.
