The Indian team management may make a few changes to their starting XI for the fourth and final Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which begins on Thursday, after losing the third Test against Australia by nine wickets in Indore. Australia, on the other hand, is quite unlikely to alter its starting lineup following its thumping victory in Indore.

It’s tough to perform flawlessly, but KS Bharat was solid in all three Test matches with the gloves despite dropping a few catches on rank turners. Bharat, though, has been with very few runs in this series. He did have a strong cameo in the second Test in Delhi, but other than that, he has had problems. It would be challenging to evaluate Bharat’s batting, though, given how poorly most Indian batters have performed.

Ishan Kishan, on the other hand, might be a like-to-like alternative for Rishabh Pant. If there is another rank-turner, Kishan would be the perfect batter to enter the game and alter the situation with his flashy cameo. Ishan, a regular domestic cricket player for Jharkhand, has good experience playing on turners.

Steve Smith to continue to lead Australia

Mohammad Shami, who was rested for the third Tests in Inodre, could replace Mohammed Siraj. Siraj, who has participated in all three formats over the past 12 months, could take a break. Umesh Yadav, who excelled in the third Test, is set to keep his spot in the starting Lineup. After a well-earned respite, Shami, who took seven wickets in the first two Test matches, will be ready to go.

Australia has announced that Steve Smith would lead the Test team once more in the series’ final game in Ahmedabad for the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Pat Cummins, who left the tour last month after the second Test in Delhi, will stay in Sydney since his mother Maria is suffering from breast cancer and is receiving palliative care there.

In the third Test in Indore, Smith, who has insisted that his time as Australia’s full-time captain is finished, stepped in admirably to lead the visitors to a historic victory in India, maintaining their hopes of tying the series in Ahmedabad this week.
