‘Ab to aadat si hai mujhein aise jine me’ – Fans reacts as Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis says ‘Ee Sala cup nahi’ in an event

Ahead of their clash against Mumbai at the M Chinnaswamy stadium Bangalore is organizing various events to interact with the fans. Meanwhile, in the quest for a maiden title, the team is practicing hard to face five-time champions in their season opener on April 2. However, a viral video of Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis has left the fans in split. 

Faf, recently, shared the stage with former India skipper Virat Kohli in a promotional event. In the event, Faf was asked to pronounce the team tagline “Ee Sala cup namde”, meaning ‘This year’s cup is ours’. Virat also taught him what to say but Faf made a hilarious mistake that forced Kohli to laugh out loud.

Faf said, “Ee sala cup nahi”, which left fans spilling over social media. 

Notably, Faf du Plessis took over Bangalore’s captaincy last year when Kohli stepped down, citing workload management. He has led the team with a lot of conviction and took them to the playoffs. Faf du Plessis will be looking to improve his records and clinch the maiden title for the team. They are set to square off against Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai in the season opener and will be looking to start with a bang. 

Virat Kohli rains sixes in a practice session 

Earlier, in the practice session, former India skipper Virat Kohli joined the Bangalore camp at the M Chinnaswamy stadium. He batted well in the nets and hit some amazing sixes. His monstrous sixes also distracted Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis as he was giving an interview.

“He’s just firing balls all the time.”, du Plessis said at the end of the video. 

Notably, Kohli didn’t have a great season last year as he scored only 341 runs in 16 matches at an average of 22.73 and a strike rate of 115.98 with two fifties. Although, he made comeback to form after a 6-week break during Asia Cup last year. Since then, he is the top scorer for India across the format as he has hammered five centuries and 1500+ runs. Meanwhile, fans react to Faf du Plessis’ miss pronunciation.
