The Men in Blue set a target of 356 runs for Babar Azam’s side on September 11 as both sides resumed play at 4:40 at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, in the Super Fours of Asia Cup 2023. Notably, India’s stalwart Virat Kohli yet again blasted the innings against Pakistan when both sides faced each other on reserve day to post a massive total against the Men in Green.

Notably, after being sent to bat first, the Men in Blue posted a massive total of 356 runs against Pakistan. India’s opening batters, Rohit Sharma and Shubham Gill, hit their half-centuries as the top-order batters hammered 56 and 58 runs before getting dismissed. Following him, India’s star batter Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were at the crease with a score of 8 and 17 runs before rain halted the play. Notably, after several inspections, the match was called off at 8:45 PM (IST) on September 10.

Meanwhile, the match started late as, once again, rain played spoilsport. As the match resumed, India’s stalwart Virat Kohli again shined out against Pakistan as he hammered a great century, marking his 47th ODI hundred after grabbing 124 runs from 94 balls, featuring nine boundaries and three sixes, with a great strike rate of 130. In addition, LSG skipper KL Rahul also notched up his century after scoring 111 runs from 106 balls, including 12 boundaries and two sixes, to post a substantial total against Babar Azam and Co.

Notably, former India skipper Virat Kohli completed 13000 runs in his ODI career from 278 innings with a batting average of 57. In addition, the stylish right-handed batter’s top score is 183, which he scored during the Asia Cup in 2012 against Pakistan. The 34-year-old cricketer recorded his 47th ODI century on the reserve day of the India-Pakistan clash.
