Star India batter Virat Kohli has been phenomenal throughout his cricketing career. Apart from a poor patch in the last few years, Kohli has been one man army for the Indian team in various important matches. Since Asia Cup 2022, he has scored more than 1600 international runs and has been amazing with the bat.

Meanwhile, former Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram praised Kohli and said that he is his favourite Indian batter currently. He said that Virat Kohli is currently the most successful Indian cricketer and he is my favourite cricketer. To be precise, Akram said, “Virat Kohli is my favourite Indian cricketer currently.” Notably, this is not the first time when Akram has praised Kohli as he said that Kohli has worked hard to reach there.

Speaking about the comparison between Kohli and Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, Akram believes that Kohli has achieved much more. He believes that Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Joe Root and Kane Williamson are the legendary players of the present time. All of them are strong icons and Babar Azam is not yet equal to these players. Though, he believes that Babar is making rapid progress. In the coming time, he can also register many big records in his name.

Virat Kohli failed to clinch the game for India in the WTC finals

In the recently concluded, World Test Championship finals against Australia in The Oval in London India faced Australia. Aussies beat India by 209 runs as Men In Blue failed to score 444 runs in the fourth innings. Kohli in two innings scored 14 runs and 49 runs respectively in the first and second innings. Australia outplayed India with the raw pace of Scott Boland and Pat Cummins who ripped apart the Indian batting line-up.

Notably, India is set to face West Indies in two-match Test series from July 12. The Indian team will kick off their campaign for the World Test Championship 2023-25. The team would be looking to continue their dominance and qualify for the finals of the marquee event. After two-match Test series, India will play five T20IS and three ODIs. This series will be followed by Asia Cup 2023, the Afghanistan tour to India and World Cup 2023.
