IPL 2024
‘Aise halat me World Cup host karenge kya’ – Twitter reacts as mismanagement in Ahmedabad creates chaos among fans for IPL 2023 Qualifier 2 and final tickets
The Indian Cricket Board seemed to have failed to manage the ticketing process at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad for Qualifier 2 and the final match. The mismanagement by the Board has created so much chaos outside the stadium when the fans were trying to get the tickets for the upcoming matches of the tournament, which led to a stampede outside the venue for the summit clash
There was no official announcement regarding the online tickets, but the people who booked online tickets had to show a QR code at the box office to collect the hard copy of the ticket. For that purpose, the Box Office window was kept open on May 25th, Thursday, from 11 am to 6 pm, just a day before the Qualifier between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians.
Hundreds of people gathered outside the stadium to collect the tickets, which led to a Police intervention to manage the crowd. This led to a lot of chaos as fans rushed to the stadium in huge numbers, and had to wait for their turn in the scorching heat.
As per the official notice, tickets cannot be collected on the match day, which means that Box Office will be open again on May 27th (a day before the final) for the people to get the hard copies of their tickets. As Narendra Modi Stadium is the largest cricket in the world with a capacity of over one lakh spectators, the similar scene is likely to happen again on Saturday.
MI and GT will looking to seal the final spot
The five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) as both teams will be looking to confirm their fixture with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the title clash of IPL 2023. MI registered a big victory against Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator yb 81 runs.
Akash Madhwal was the hero for MI with his deadly spell where he scalped 5 wickets by conceding just 5 runs.On the other hand, the table topper of the league stage, GT suffered a 15-run loss against CSK in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. CSK made it into their 10th IPL final and will be looking to clinch their fifth IPL title.
Have always been vocal about the criteria of being asked to collect the physical tickets even when the procedure of buying them is online. Nothing has changed over the years. BCCI knows that the fans will anyhow fill the stadiums and they're not the ones who will have to stand in…

One Stampede Accident will ruin lives as well as IPL image.
BCCI despite all its money has some really cheap tactics to hype the IPL fandom. They are lucky that India has a big cricket-loving population otherwise this kind of scenario is unacceptable in today's digital times.

Fans need to destroy BCCI's office once else they won't listen and will continue treating fans like trash.

The bad is that the stadium is made in the outskirts of Ahmedabad… ive been to the stadium. Its in a small town, where you’ve to pass through tiny lanes to get through. I myself got saved from a stampede. The stadium is spectacular but the way to get to it is horrid.

It's not mismanagement. Even if they do anything it's not controllable. It's not even 1% of what I had faced during quarter final of India vs Aus 2011 WC. And then I have decided I would never watch any matches in cricket ground. TV is the best experience ever.

It’s not because of mismanagement, people should be careful what’s the necessity to go in that crowd .? Match is bigger than life ..? In that crowd pick pocketing can happen and chances of stampede so avoid crowds . Watch in TV Enjoy match with chilled beer and chicken .
