‘Yaha ek ticket nahi mil raha hai or iske pas 20’ – Fans react as man gets arrested for selling ODI World Cup 2023 India Vs South Africa tickets illegally

Team India is all set to lock horns against Sri Lanka on November 2 at the iconic Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai for their seventh clash of the ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, following the game, Rohit Sharma and Co. will be facing the South African side on November 5 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. India and South Africa are the top two teams for the ongoing marquee event. The Men in Blue have won all six games so far, while Proteas has won five games and lost one.

However, the day also marks the birthday of India’s batting master Virat Kohli, as he is turning 35 on November 5, and the CAB President had already promised a mega celebration at the Eden Garden for India’s stalwart. Undeniably, the 34-year-old cricketer has been one of the top batsmen for Team India and has played a crucial role in the first half of the ODI World Cup 2023.

Meanwhile, in between the celebrations, the Kolkata police arrested one person named Ankit Agarwal, who had sold ODI World Cup 2023 tickets for the India vs. South Africa clash for Rs. 11000 each, while the real worth was Rs. 2500. In addition, the police seized all 20 tickets from him.

“A man named Ankit Agarwal was arrested for selling the ICC Cricket World Cup India Vs South Africa match tickets worth Rs. 2500 at Rs. 11,000 each. Kolkata Police seized a total of 20 tickets from his possession for the India Vs South Africa match which is going to be held on November 5,” ANI official wrote on X.

Meanwhile, India and Sri Lanka had their last match at Wankhede Stadium during the 2011 ODI World Cup, where the MS Dhoni-led host team thrashed them to create history. However, the current team last faced off against each other during the Asia Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma and Co. defeated them by a narrow margin in the Super Fours of the Asia Cup 2023, whereas Team India completely dominated the hosts to win the eighth title of the Continental Cup.
