Apex Legends sees two female pros in a single team for first time

Phoenix Legacy, competing in the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) shocked everyone by securing the ninth position with two female players on the team.

Female players are often seen in the Apex esports scene. Many line-ups have female players. However, this is the first time two female players were playing together. Players are now sure that soon we may even see an all-female line-up.

The team consisting of Kornelia “Sabz” Zawistowska, Kyri “Kyri” Taha and David “AlphaDraft” Ciura turned everyone’s head with their performance event taking over the Week One champions Element 6.

Thales Cesa, another professional Apex player for Luminosity gaming also spoke on the matter saying both players are setting a great example in the Apex community. Both of them have further inspired many more across the world with their performance and presence.

Not new to Apex esports

Sabz a Polish Apex pro has been active in the Apex Legends community since 2022 have won several tournaments. She is currently playing for TSM.

Kyri also started her Apex Legends career in 2022. While she has not made as much name, she did perform really well against veteran players during the ALGS. Both Sabz and Kyri entered the tournament with AlphaDraft playing for Phoenix Legacy at the ALGS.

Women in esports

Over the last few years, professional esports teams have started forming dedicated female rosters. While in the early days, it was done for aesthetic purposes, now there are dedicated tournaments and coaches for female line-ups.

The release of games like Valorant have also boosted the esports presence of female players. Top esports organizations like G2, Cloud9, NIP, Team Liquid and many more have dedicated Female line-ups for games like Valorant, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike.
