Delhi trashed UP in the fifth game of the Women’s T20 League

The Holi celebration took place after Delhi defeated UP by 42 runs on Tuesday at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai in the fifth game of the Women’s T20 League. After losing the toss, Delhi was pushed to bat first. They got off to an excellent start, thanks to their captain Meg Lanning, who delivered another outstanding 70-run inning.

The Capitals concluded their innings at 211/4 with some fireworks from Jess Jonassen, who hammered unbeaten 42 runs off only 20 balls while hitting three fours and three sixes. This is their second 200+ total in a row in the ongoing league. In response, UP got an interesting star but failed to capitalize on it and succumbed to the amazing bowling performance from Jonassen.

Although, Tahila McGrath tried to rescue her team as she hammered unbeaten 90 runs off 50 balls. Meanwhile UP lost the game as any other batter failed to support McGrath in the run chase. Delhi after beating UP now has 4 points and is currently second placed in the points table. They will now face Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai on Thursday. On the other hand on Wednesday Bangalore will face Gujarat as both teams will look to register their first win in the tournament.

Meanwhile, fans react to the Holi celebration in Delhi camp. A Twitter user said, “This holi go green.”
