The Australia cricket team won their ODI World Cup 2023 game against arch-rivals England by 33 runs on November 4 at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. Notably, the five-time world champions Australia are currently in the number three spot and looking hopeful of getting a place in the semi-final spot after their great performances in the ongoing event.

Speaking about the game here, England skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and invited Australia to bat first. Notably, after being sent to bat first, they had an awful start as the great opener Travis Head departed for just 11 runs while star cricketer David Warner was also sent back for just 15 runs during the play. However, both can do wonders if they would have stayed a bit longer in the innings against Ashes rivals.

Following them, middle-order batsman Steve Smith got 44 runs while right-handed batsman Marnus Labuschagne struck out 71 runs on 83 balls, featuring eight boundaries that boosted their middle order in the game. However, great all-rounders Cameron Green and Marcus Stoinis piled up 47 and 35 runs, respectively, which helped their side to post 286 runs in 49.3 overs before getting an all-out in the game.

Meanwhile, during the chase, England’s wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow was removed for the duck; however, great opener and left-handed batsman David Malan struck out his fifty to boost their top order. Meanwhile, Joe Root could only get 13 runs, which reduced them to 30/2 early in the inning.

However, it was great all-rounder Ben Stokes, who got 64 runs but lost his wicket at the crucial time. England’s skipper, Jos Buttler, could only get one run. Later, Moeen Ali was looking into the magnificent form, but he also departed for 42 runs. Later, in the end, David Willey and Chris Woakes tried hard but failed to chase the total and guided Australia to a great win. Meanwhile, Jos Buttler and Co. will be facing Pakistan in the last game of the tournament.
