‘Baap ko sab jante hai’ – Fans react as Pakistan’s pacer Shaheen Afridi lavishes huge praise on Virat Kohli
Both India and Pakistan have won the 2023 Asia Cup pre-stage rounds and are headed towards the Super Fours, which are all set to commence on September 6. Notably, the Babar Azam side had a great victory against Nepal in their opening match, whereas the encounter against arch-rivals India was washed out after the rains played spoilsport on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. In addition, the Rohit Sharma side registered a 10-wicket win against Nepal in the rain-curtailed match, which guided them into the super fours.
Notably, the Men in Green showed excellent bowling skills during the match against India, which saw them dismiss the Men in Blue for 266 runs. Moreover, the young star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed India’s stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in quick succession. Meanwhile, as the match washed out, the 23-year-old pacer heaped praise on former India skipper Virat Kohli while calling him a legendary player.
Virat Kohli has scored lots of runs against Pakistan: Shaheen Afridi
The left-arm pacer called Virat Kohli’s wicket an important one owing to his magnificent form against Pakistan. Notably, India’s stalwart single-handedly won the match for his side in the 2022 T20 World Cup at the iconic MCG after the Men in Blue were 31/4 against Pakistan. Notably, the 34-year-old cricketer smashed an unbeaten 82 runs from 53 balls and pulled the game back after it was gone at the start. In addition, the Pakistani cricketer says the RCB batter is the backbone of the Indian team.
“Virat Kohli is a legendary player. Virat Kohli has scored lots of runs against Pakistan, won many of games for India. His wicket was very important for the team. He is the backbone of the Indian team. Our plan was to bowl in the channel and that helped us get the wicket,” Shaheen Afridi said in the video posted by Pakistan Cricket Board.
