‘Bahut bahut badhae bhai’ – Fans wish Axar Patel as allrounder ties knot with fiance Meha Patel

Published on

India’s promising allrounder Axar Patel got married to Meha Patel on January 26, Thursday and it turned out to be a great start for the southpaw, after enjoying a successful outing for the Indian team of late. Indian Test star Jaydev Unadkat made sure his presence was felt at the wedding as he attended it with his wife and wished the southpaw.

Patel has been India’s promising allrounder and it remains to be seen if the left-handed batter would make a cut to India’s squad for the 50-over World Cup set to take place later this year at home. However, the 29-year-old will be a part of the Tests against Australia slated on February 9, before heading into the Indian T20 League.

Recently, during the T20I series against the Lankan Lions, Patel smashed 65 off 31 balls and proved his prowess, making a statement ahead of the much-awaited multinational tournament. India would be hoping to have his services in the highly-competitive contest, given that it would be one of the toughest challenges this year for Rohit Sharma and his men.

Can Axar Patel make it to 50-over World Cup 2023?

With a busy schedule ahead, the Indian allrounder would hope to carry on with the form and cement his place in the squad for the 50-over World Cup, given in all likelihood that he will be preferred over veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on the back of age factor and ability to clear boundaries more frequently than the latter.

If at all the Indian allrounder makes a cut to the multinational tournament squad, it would be one of the greatest achievements of his life, given that he has been representing team India since 2014 and regularly since 2020. Patel would be hoping to turn things around in Tests for India in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar trophy set to take place in a few days’ time and prove his critics wrong in the much-anticipated contest.
