‘Bhai Asia Cup me bhi bacha liyo’ – Fans react as Jasprit Bumrah guides India to 2-0 series win against Ireland

The third T20I between India and Ireland had to be abandoned, and Jasprit Bumrah and Co. won the series 2-0 against Paul Stirling’s side on August 23 in Dublin. Notably, the Men in Blue won the first T20I by 2 runs by the DLS method, whereas they won the second T20I by 33 runs owing to great performances by star batters Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rinku Singh.

Meanwhile, after an emphatic series win against Ireland, stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah expressed his happiness. Notably, the great seamer was extremely thrilled to play a great game after returning from injuries. In addition, the right-arm pacer was slightly frustrated as the match was called off due to rain. Moreover, the 29-year-old cricketer was honoured to lead the young side, and he always enjoys such opportunities.

“Very happy to be back and play some cricket. Frustrating when you’re waiting for a game to happen. Did not see this coming, the weather was fine in the morning. An honour to lead the side, everyone was very eager and enthusiastic. Whenever you get an opportunity to lead your side, anyone would love to do that,” Jasprit Bumrah said during post match presentation.

Furthermore, the great bowler also talked about his fitness. In addition, the Mumbai Indians bowlers reveal that he was very comfortable in his captaincy, as the players were very confident and guided him. “As a cricketer, you always want responsibility. All good, no complaints (on fitness front). It is makes my job easier when players are so confident, and they tell me what to do,” he added further.

Meanwhile, the Men in Blue will now be seen in action during the Asia Cup, commencing on August 30 in Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Notably,  Rohit Sharma‘s side will be playing all of their matches in Sri Lanka, as they earlier refused to travel to Pakistan. Team India is all set to lock horns against Babar Azam’s side on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
