Pakistan skipper Babar Azam opines that he prefers to watch Australia’s Big Bash League more than Indian T20 League. In response to a query on the Peshawar Zalmi podcast, the Zalmi skipper made the above choice. Babar also explained why he opted for the BBL.

”The conditions over there in Australia are different. The pitches over there are really fast and you get to learn a lot. Whereas in Indian T20 League, you get the same Asian conditions,” Babar said.

Due to political difficulties between India and Pakistan, Babar has yet to play in the Big Bash League, while no Pakistani player has participated in the Indian T20 League since the first season of the competition. Babar Azam registered his name in The Hundred selection for 2023 earlier this month. His reserve price when he entered the draught with £10,000.

I think you can only perform in the match when you practice hard: Babar Azam

Former Indian cricketer, Aakash Chopra said last month that the Pakistan Super League was the “second best league” in the world, behind the ITL. The former cricket player thinks the Big Bash League is not keeping up. “SA20 was such a lovely cricketing spectacle…packed houses. Good cricket. League has the potential to be the second-best T20 league after the Indian T20 League. Currently, I feel it’s the PSL. Which incidentally is starting today too. BBL-CPL lagged behind,” said Chopra.

The right-handed batter revealed that he committed to playing 500–600 balls every day during practice, and even increases the number of balls when he is out of shape.

“I think you can only perform in the match when you practice hard. I play 500-600 balls daily during my practice. Even double balls when I am out of form. I believe practice is so important for anyone who wants to perform on the ground. Criticism is always there, whether you perform or not. Everyone has their own opinion,” he asserted
