‘Bohot sahi kaha hain’- Former India all-rounder bashes Hardik Pandya for not letting Tilak Varma score his half-century in 3rd T20I against West Indies

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has bashed India T20I captain Hardik Pandya for not letting Tilak Varma score a half-century against West Indies in the 3rd T20I at Providence Stadium, Guyana. Team India, who had lost two straight matches, staged a stunning comeback and won the contest.

Tilak Verma stayed undefeated in the third T20 after scoring 49 runs. Tilak had a chance to reach 50, but Hardik Pandya finished the match with a six. Hardik’s supporters are heavily criticising him on social media for doing so. Simultaneously, former bowler Irfan Pathan has sent a tweet that has gone viral on social media.

Mushkil kaam aap karo, Asaan kaam mein Kar leta hoo. Suna suna Sa lagta hai: Irfan Pathan

Hardik Pandya, who was present on the field, hit a six and won the match for Team India. Tilak Verma could not complete his half-century, due to which the anger of Irfan Pathan erupted along with the fans. He has now vented his anger saying in his tweet “Mushkil kaam aap karo, Asaan kaam mein Kar leta hoo. Suna suna Sa lagta hai…”( “You do the difficult work.. I do the easy work”). Fans have created abuzz after the Hardik incident.

Fans on social media slammed the skipper, labelling the all-rounder as “selfish.” Meanwhile, some linked the situation to the former India captain’s heartfelt gesture to Virat Kohli during India’s T20 World Cup semi-final against South Africa in 2014. When India needed one run off seven deliveries, Dhoni was on strike. The renowned cricketer guarded the ball, allowing Kohli to conclude the game with a match-winning knock.

Batting first, the West Indies team scored 159 runs losing 5 wickets. While chasing the target India got off to the worst possible start, with opener Shubman Gill and debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal failing to seize the chance. Gill scored 6 runs off 11 balls, while Jaiswal scored 1 run off 2 balls, and both were eliminated during the first powerplay. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma, on the other hand, attempted to save India by adding 87 runs for the third wicket.

Suryakumar Yadav smashed a superb half-century, scoring 83 runs off 44 balls with 10 fours and four sixes. The West Indies lead the series 2-1, and the last two games will be contested at Lauderhill, Florida.
