‘Bowling aisi karo ki 4 log kahe kya fek rha hai’ – Fans react to Shaheen Shah Afridi’s four wickets in his first over in Vitality Blast game
Arguably one of the best left-arm pacers going around, Shaheen Shah Afridi has proven his mettle in the Vitality blast as well. Currently, Afridi is playing for Nottinghamshire in the English T20 league. The star Pakistan pacer produced an absolutely stellar show with the ball for his county team Nottinghamshire against Warwickshire in the T20 Blast game at Trent Bridge on Friday.
The speedster registered four wickets in his opening over against Warwickshire, and eventually ended the over giving away seven runs. Afridi, while achieving this feat, became the first bowler in history to take four wickets in the first over of the innings. The 23-year-old left-arm pacer first dismissed the opener Alex Davies leg before wicket with a toe-crushing yorker. Afridi then cleaned and bowled out Chris Benjamin for a golden duck off with an absolute ripper. The star Pakistan bowler then got the wicket of Dan Mousley, who played it straight into the hands of Olly Stone, who was fielding at Cover.
The Pakistan front-line bowler then clean bowled out with another full and straight yorker to Ed Barnard, and completed four wickets in a single over. In fact, throughout the over, Afridi was even on a hat trick. Throughout the competition, Afridi has been in great form as the left-arm pacer has taken 20 wickets in the 13 games that he has played for the franchise at an outstanding economy rate of 8.65.

However, this stunning performance from Afridi could not help his side to cross the lines as the Warwickshire’s side won the game by two wickets. After batting first, Nottinghamshire’s side was bundled out for 168 runs in their allocated 20 overs on the back of a fighting innings from the wicketkeeper batter Tom Moores, who scored 73 runs off 42 deliveries. Later in reply, despite losing four early wickets, the opener Robert Yates steadied the ship along with batters Jacob Bethell and Jake Lintott to see them over the finishing line.
