Breaking! Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma announce berth of their second child
Former India captain Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma are blessed with a baby boy. The Bollywood actress took to her social media handle to announce the massive news on Tuesday. In an Instagram story, Anushka revealed that they welcomed their second child, named Akaay, on February 15. The couple also requested to respect their privacy during this moment.
“With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay and Vamika’s little brother into this world! We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time,” read the post.
Kohli and Anushka got married in 2017 and welcomed their first child, a daughter named Vamika, in January 2021. The two are the most loved couple in cricket and have charmed everyone with their strong bond and support for each other’s careers. Fans of both are flooding social media with congratulations and well wishes.
Rumours turned out to be true
Rumors surrounding Anushka’s pregnancy have been rife for some time now, and after Kohli pulled out of the ongoing India-England Test series, speculations were rife that the two were set to welcome their second child. The batting stalwart was included in the Indian squad for the five-match Test series, but a few days before the series opener, he left the team citing personal reasons.
The Indian Cricket Board had initially confirmed that Kohli would miss the first two matches in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam but later confirmed that he would miss the entire series due to personal reasons. Meanwhile, former South Africa cricketer AB de Villiers, who shares a great bond with Kohli, revealed that the couple is expecting their second child.
Fans slammed him for revealing the secret and later he came up with an apology for spreading ‘false information’. However, now it has turned out to be true. Kohli will next be seen with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.
