‘We have got a huge challenge against…..’ – Brendon McCullum on England’s Test series vs India

The England cricket team will tour India for five matches of the Test series which is slated to take place in January next year. This will be part of the WTC cycle 2023-2025. Notably, the Jos Buttler-led England side is currently in the West Indies for the three matches of the ODI series. The visitors suffered a four-wicket loss against the West Indies in the first ODI on December 3.

However, following that, England head coach Brendon McCullum is excited to face Team India for the upcoming Test Series. The former wicketkeeper batter feels that will be a huge challenge for their side. In addition, the right-handed batter calls Team India excellent side in their home conditions. The head coach hopes his side defeats the hosts in the Test series.

Brendon McCullum also shares that their side has experienced immense success in the last few Test matches, which will be a boost for them. Moreover, the 42-year-old head coach recalls that there are a few players who have performed greatly in the last 18 months and done their job as the leader.

I genuinely believe that India is best in their own condition: Brendon McCullum

“We have got a huge challenge against a very good India team in five tests in India. I am excited about it because you want to test yourself against the best side and I genuinely believe that India is the best in their own condition. It is going to be a good challenge for us. If we have success then fabulous, if we don’t then I know we will go down in the style that we want to go down,” Brendon McCullum said.

“We are very lucky that we have had some immediate success but I don’t think it is the ceiling for us. I think we have seen some guys who have unlocked their potential in the last 18 months or so and that’s what the job is as a leader; to get the most out of the people that you’re in charge of,” he added further.
