‘Soon the whole side will have it’ – Fans react as Cameron Green and Andrew McDonald test positive for Covid-19 ahead of 2nd Test vs WI
Australia head coach Andrew McDonald and all-rounder Cameron Green have tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of their pink-ball test against the West Indies at the Gabba in Brisbane. Notably, Green and McDonald are now separated from Australia’s squad until they return negative COVID-19 test results. According to Cricket Australia protocols, both players may still be eligible to participate in the Test against the West Indies, even if they don’t return negative results within the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the star cricketer Travis Head, who previously contracted the COVID-19 virus at the end of the first Test in Adelaide last week, has tested negative now. Head, who has experienced a COVID-19 infection during a home test series before, was ruled out of the Melbourne Test.
Meanwhile, Andrew McDonald and Cameron Green are currently isolated from the team, and they will rejoin the squad once they return with negative COVID-19 test results. Cricket Australia recently revealed the status and said that both will not be part of the squad but are set to join once they have tested negative and will be under the medium team.

“Cameron Green and Andrew McDonald will be separated from the group until they return a negative test. It will not hinder Green taking part in or McDonald attending the match in line with CA protocols,” Cricket Australia said in a statement, as quoted by Sydney Morning Herald.
Meanwhile, Australia have won the first Test match, and they will be looking to win the second Test to whitewash the series against West Indies.

At least we know one thing Green would test positive for and that’s making runs as a test batsman.

No one talks about Covid anymore except when it might impact a sporting contest. Interesting. 🤔

This is not big news at all- players are still allowed to play if they test positive for Covid. What’s the point of testing? If they feel crook, bench them. If they feel ok, play them 🤷🏼♂️
