‘Can’t wait to see Babar losing’ – Fans react as people start booking hospital beds amidst unavailability of hotel rooms for the India vs. Pakistan clash

Published on

It goes without saying that demand for tickets for the forthcoming ODI World Cup clash between India and Pakistan is at a record-breaking high. The upcoming match, which is slated to take place at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15, has gained even more excitement since the arch-rivals only compete against each other in continental or international tournaments and are not involved in bilateral cricket contests.

According to earlier reports, it’s been noted that the cost of hotels in Ahmedabad is up, especially in anticipation of the city’s approaching high-stakes match. Notably, the price lists for several hotels on booking sites showed an enormous rise in accommodation expenses, which could have been a consequence of the record-breaking demand from cricket fans to witness the much-awaited match involving arch-rivals.

Cricket fans have started to book hospital beds instead of hotel rooms

In a recent occurrence, it has been found that some cricket fans have started to book hospital beds instead of hotel rooms to facilitate their one- or two-night stay in the town for this particular match.

Notably, for the first time since 2011, India will be hosting the 50-over World Cup. On top of that, during the 2011 World Cup held in Mohali, India beat Pakistan in the semifinals before upsetting Sri Lanka in the final match to take home the trophy. In addition, the Men in Blue have never lost to Pakistan in an ODI World Cup since 1992, and in the upcoming clash, it is also expected that the Rohit Sharma-led squad will upset Babar Azam’s side.

Moreover, it’s undeniable that the supporters are reluctant to miss the chance of watching India take on Pakistan in a World Cup match straight from the stadium, considering that the two nations have not faced each other in India since the 2016 T20I World Cup. Furthermore, there will be a high-level battle between some stars, such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Babar Azam, and Shaheen Afridi, with each other.

Look out how the fans have reacted to the same:
