Casare Cesadai speaks on making mark at Stamford Bridge after loan stint at Reading

Chelsea midfielder Casare Cesadai refused to be persuaded that he is happy to join the club and now is eager to break into the first team. The 20-year-old joined the Blues from Inter Milan during the last summer for €15 million. He was signed during the mid-season of the Premier League where Chelsea saw eight players joining them in the winter transfer window.

Cesadai’s arrival went under the radar and he lacked game time. The Italian was then sent out on loan to EFL Championship outfit Reading in January. He has been featured 19 times for the Royals across competitions and scored two goals. Cesadai spoke about his move to Chelsea and said that he is happy to join the West Londoners.

‘I had to adapt to a different culture’ – Cesadai

“No, no. I would do everything I did again. I’m really happy in England. Playing as a starter in the Championship has allowed me to experience the football of the greats. Now I’m going back to Chelsea to play my chances,” Cesadai told Corriere dello Sport.

“It wasn’t easy at first, I had to adapt to a different culture. I am overcoming the language barrier with an English teacher who follows me, and then they are not afraid to throw you into the mix: I almost immediately trained with the Blues’ first team,” he further added.

The Italian is making his return to Stamford Bridge at a time when Chelsea are in a difficult position. The Blues finished the Premier League season lowly in 12th place. Mauricio Pochettino has been appointed as the new manager of Chelsea is likely to make plenty of changes in the squad.

Cesadai may also be given an opportunity to shine amid the mega sale that looks to be on the horizon. The futures of midfielders Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic are in doubt as Chelsea will be looking to bring balance to their squad after a disappointing season.
