‘Chalo ek aur final ki squad se bahar hogya’ – Fans React to Jaydev Unadkat getting injured during IPL training

Jaydev Unadkat will not play in the Indian Premier League for the duration of the season, which is a significant setback for Lucknow Super Giants. While bowling during LSG’s practice, the pacer landed awkwardly and hurt his shoulder. However, it is anticipated that the left-arm pacer will be fit for the Test Championship 2023 final, which gets underway on June 7 at London’s The Oval.

The LSG pacer fell to the ground on Sunday while bowling his initial delivery in the nets and injured his left shoulder. The Saurashtra captain reportedly went to Mumbai for medical scans and consultations with the Indian Cricket Board’s authorised medical personnel. He will probably now travel to Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy to begin his rehabilitation process for fitness restoration.

In India’s 15-person roster for the Test Championship final versus Australia, Unadkat was selected. After an absence of 12 years, he participated in India’s most recent test matches against Australia and Bangladesh. Unadkat guided Saurashtra to victory in the Ranji Trophy 2022 final with nine wickets, however, he was unable to play in any of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 matches.

Jasprit Bumrah, the premier pacer for the Indian squad, is not travelling with them for the Test Championship final. India’s five-man speed attack still only has Unadkat as a left-arm option. The remaining four alternatives for the Rohit Sharma-led team are Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Umesh Yadav.

Who else from the Lucknow Super Giants is on the injury list?

KL Rahul, the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants, likely won’t play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) again after suffering a significant thigh injury during the team’s most recent match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

It is reported that the Indian Cricket Board Sports Science and Medical Team would have to work quickly to make senior wicketkeeper Rahul ready for the Test Championship final, which will be held in London from June 7 to 11. While rushing to the boundary in response to the Faf du Plessis cover drive that came from Marcus Stoinis’ bowling, Rahul hurt his right thigh.
