‘Chalo sahi h, abhi match start kardo’ – Fans react to clear weather in Colombo ahead of India vs Sri Lanka match in Asia Cup 2023
Team India had a terrific victory in the Super Fours of the Asia Cup 2023. The Men in Blue defeated Babar Azam’s side and grabbed a massive victory of 228 runs in their opening game of the Super Fours during the ongoing Asia Cup on September 11 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Notably, India’s star batters Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul struck magnificent knocks to guide India towards the victory, which places them at the top of the points table while Pakistan places themselves in the third position.
Meanwhile, the match was halted by rain when India were standing with a score of 124 runs in 24.1 overs on September 10. Later, after several suspects, the match was called off and allowed to begin on the reserve day. Notably, on September 11, there was heavy rain at 3 p.m. which caused a delay in the start. Following that, rain once again played spoilsport when a Pakistani player was batting. Later, as the match Team India’s great bowling spell helped bundle out the Pakistan team.
No rain now, but a threat looms for the India vs Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023
In just less than 24 hours, Rohit Sharma and Co. will be locking horns against Sri Lanka on September 12 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo for their second match of the Asia Cup 2023. According to reports, there is no rain at the Colombo on Tuesday and the sun is out, but the MET department clearly stated that the game may be halted by rain, which can lead to one point being shared between each team.
Notably, Team India and Sri Lanka are in the first and second positions on the points table, respectively. Team India will be looking to win the match against Dasun Shanaka’s side to grab a spot in the final, whereas the match will be a must-win for each team as it will help them reach the finals. Meanwhile, both teams have played one game in the Super Fours, and after winning it, they get the top two positions, whereas the Pakistan team has played two games and stands in the third position with one win and one loss.
