‘Congratulations to the beautiful couple’ – Cricket fraternity congratulate KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty as they tie the knot

India star batter KL Rahul got engaged to Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty, who is Suniel Shetty’s daughter, on Monday. The couple didn’t make any official announcements about their marriage earlier, but the two tied the knot on January 23.

The wedding rituals took place at Sunil Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse. After the marriage, the couple posted pictures on social media, and Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and former India skipper Virat Kohli were the people to quickly reply to their posts.

The wedding ceremony was attended by the closest of Shetty’s family and friends and by KL Rahul’s family. For the wedding, Athiya wore a full sleeve pink blouse lehenga and she also opted for heavy jewellery whereas Rahul was seen in a cream sherwani.

There were hardly any glimpses from the weddings but the bride’s father promised the paparazzi on Sunday that the couple will pose for the pictures soon.

“Main kal leke aata hoon bachhon ko. Aapne jo pyaar dikhaya uske liye bohot bohot thank you (I will bring the kids tomorrow (to pose after the wedding) Thank you for showing us so much love,” said the bollwood actor.

He joked that merely the “father” part should be kept and get rid of the “father-in-law chakkar.” “In-law ka chakkar agar hat jaye aur agar father hi rahu toh bhaut khoobsurat hai, kyunki woh part main bhaut ache se nibhaata hoon (It would be great to dispense with ‘in-law’ and have ‘father’ remain because that’s a responsibility I discharge well),” he said.

Ajay Devgan, a popular Bollywood star, was among the first ones to congratulate his friend Suniel on the wedding of his daughter. “Congratulations to my dear friends @SunielVShetty & #ManaShetty for their daughter @theathiyashetty’s marriage to @klrahul. On Sunday pre-wedding celebrations in hand t-shirts farmhouse in Khandala. The house was all letter and many guests were seen wearing traditional clothes and dancing to the music.
