‘Goat with vengeance’ – Fans react as Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2 outstanding goals guide Al Nassr team to exhilarating 4-3 AFC Champions League win against Al Duhail

The legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo produced two outstanding goals to guide his Al Nassr team to an exhilarating 4-3 AFC Champions League victory against Al Duhail on October 24. Notably, the two goals were an outstanding vintage effort from the Portuguese star. However, Al Nassr, which has Anderson Talisca and Sadio Mane, the former striker for Liverpool, won the group round for the third time in a row in this prestigious Asian club competition.

In addition, the 38-year-old legend has proven to be one of Al Nassr’s finest performers since joining the team, and he claimed the Arab Club Champions Cup earlier this year. However, as Ronaldo signed in Saudi Arabia, a number of well-known athletes, including the likes of Sadio Mane, Karim Benzema, and Neymar, joined the Saudi Pro League. Meanwhile, Al Hilal, a different Riyadh-based team, comfortably overcame the absence of their injured star Neymar, thrashing Mumbai City 6-0 with two goals from former Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic.

In the East Zone, the South Korean Pohang Steelers stunned the defending champion Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan 2-0 at home. Goh Young-jun and Jeong Jae-hee scored goals for the Pohang Steelers shortly before halftime in Saitama. Meanwhile, Christophe Galtier accepted that one can’t do much more when Cristiano Ronaldo scores the goals. Galtier heaps praise on the 38-year-old legend for his wonderful two goals that guided an emphatic win. In addition, Galtier was lost for words to describe his contribution to the game. Moreover, he called him the best player in the world.

When you face Cristiano Ronaldo, there isn’t much you can do: Christophe Galtier

“When you face Ronaldo, there isn’t much you can do. He scored two beautiful goals. I’m at a loss for words to describe him. What he did today is extraordinary for a 38-year-old. He’s still the best player in the world,” said Al Duhail manager Christophe Galtier, who was in charge of French giants Paris Saint-Germain last season.

“Today Pohang was the better team and deserved to win. Especially in the physical aspect, we couldn’t do too much,” said Urawa manager Maciej Skorza.
