CS2 gets huge update; adds maps, game mode, new case and bug fixes

Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) has now received its biggest update for this year, called ‘A Call to Arms’. The update adds a new game mode with maps, along with a new case and multiple general gameplay changes and bug fixes.

Here are all the things new in the new update –

Maps and game modes

CS2 as of now is deprived of content. CS: GO on the other hand had multiple game modes and maps. It’s about time Valve showed the game some love. With this, the game has now got its beloved Arms Race back with two new maps.

For those who don’t know, the Arms Race is also known as a gun game in Call of Duty. The objective is to get kills from all weapon rotations, with a final kill requirement from a knife or Zeus.

New case and sticker update

Players can now acquire a new case that includes 17 community-designed weapon finishes. The case also includes a Kukri knife as a rare reward, which comes in multiple finishes.

Another huge addition is the first weapon finish for Zeus x27. It will now also support stickers and custom name tags like any other weapon available in CS2. There is also a new sticker pack and soundtrack.

Talking about stickers, the developers have done a sticker overhaul. Players can now place stickers in a custom position of a weapon. Along with that, the limit of stickers on a weapon has been increased from four to five.

Gameplay Update

The game also received some quality-of-life updates. The biggest one is Zeus x27 recharge, meaning now the weapon can be used again after 30 seconds. Instead of throwing it on the ground, players will now see it recharge.

Another change is the XP Overload. Players who have reached the weekly XP bonus will have an icon displayed along their name. The icon will upgrade each week to reach the XP limit.

Lastly, the character models will display their grief or joy depending on the result of the match. Earlier it was the base pose despite any outcome of the game. There are also many other bug fixes across multiple maps. Full details on that are available in patch notes.
