‘Dear Gujarat Police, please don’t book our…’- Delhi Police’s hilarious Tweet on Virat Kohli attracts social media response

Former India skipper, Virat Kohli scored the 28th Test century of his international career after a long gap of 1205 days in the fourth and final Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Sunday, March 12. The last century he scored was back in November 2019, in the pink-ball Test match against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata which was India’s first-ever Day-Night Test. There, he scored 139 runs against the Bangla Tigers.

Kohli scored the 75th ton of his International career on Sunday. After Sachin Tendulkar, he is the only other batter in history to achieve that milestone. It is sometimes predicted that Kohli will surpass Tendulkar’s incredible record of 100 centuries in international cricket. Although, the 34-year-old still needs 25 hundreds to complete that record. Many former cricketers are of the opinion that Kohli won’t have any trouble getting there because of his physical fitness.

After the former Bangalore franchise skipper’s magnificent hundred, the Delhi police took it to their official social media handle and won the hearts of the cricket fans with a brilliant tweet addressing the Gujarat Police which went viral on social media in no time. “Dear@GujaratPolice, Don’t book our Delhi boy #ViratKohli for voluntarily causing hurt to the guests. AUS-SOME, game@imVkohli!,” wrote Delhi Police on the official social media account of the police force of India

Virat Kohli scores 186 against Australia

If you all don’t know, Kohli lives in Delhi along with his family. He is born and brought up in the national capital only. But, currently he is in iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahemdabad for the fourth and final test Test of the BGT.

In response of Australia’s mammoth total of 480, India scored 571 runs before losing their nine wickets just before the end of play on Day 4. Star India batter, Shreyas Iyer was having problems in his back and, hence, he didn’t come to bat. Former India skipper, Kohli and opener Shubman Gill led the charge for the Indian batting line-up.

A marvellous century was scored by both Kohli and Gill. Kohli scored 186 runs off 364 balls, which included 15 fours. On the other hand, the 23-year-old scored 128 runs off 235 balls with 12 boundaries and a six.
