Destiny 2 introduces new weekly quest to fill seasonal gap

Published on

Now that the season of the wish in Destiny 2 have concluded, Bungie have announced weekly quests for players. Players can obtain craftable weapons and upgrade materials after completing the quest.

As per the official post by Bungie, “Starting on January 30, players can visit Mara Sov to accept a weekly quest with a high-risk objective in the Dreaming City, such as completing Legend Lost Sectors or dungeons.”

Players will have three reward categories to choose from after completing the weekly quest. These are –

  1. A red-border Last Wish weapon
  2. A piece of Lightfall exotic armour
  3. Various materials including mementoes, ascendant materials, and exotic ciphers

How are these items currently acquired?

For context, the red border weapons are usually acquired from completing ‘The Last Wish’ raid. This requires six people and can take hours if players do not know what to do.

Exotic armour is acquired through exotic engrams, which are pretty common. However, players will have to acquire the armour once from Legend Lost Sectors to include them in the exotic engrams drop pool.

The best place to get Mementos, ascendant materials, and exotic cyphers for now is the Grand Master Nightfall missions. These missions can be done with three people, but often require a lot of time and preparation, as failure can lead to a full restart.

Long way to go for ‘The Final Shape’

Players will have to wait quite some time to play the next expansion for Destiny 2 as it was delayed till June. There are currently over four months of nothing in Destiny 2 except for regular activities.

The expansion was delayed in order to release the update in the best possible condition to avoid the Lightfall controversy. In order to keep players engaged, the development teams have planned multiple activities to fill the gap leading to the final shape.
