‘Iska match per effect nhi padega’ – Fans react as Devon Conway gets ruled out of 4th T20I vs Pakistan due to Covid
New Zealand star opener Devon Conway has been ruled out of the fourth T20I match against Pakistan, which is slated to take place on January 19. Notably, the southpaw has been infected with the COVID-19 infection ahead of the fourth game, which has kept him out of the game. Meanwhile, the star cricketer might play the last and final T20I, which will take place on January 21.
Meanwhile, the Black Caps confirmed news about the same, and they revealed the new batter, who will open the innings. Just a few days ago, Mitchell Santner was hit by Covid and went on to miss the first T20I; however, he made his successful return after missing the opening game. In addition, Kane Williamson has again been ruled out of the series after sustaining injuries, and Tom Latham is leading the side in his absence.
“Devon Conway has been ruled out of the fourth T20I against Pakistan after testing positive for COVID. Conway has been in isolation at the team’s Christchurch hotel after testing positive yesterday. Canterbury Kings batsman Chad Bowes will join the squad today as cover. #NZvPAK,” Blackcaps official X handle wrote this confirming the news.

Devon Conway has played a great role in guiding New Zealand to win the series against Pakistan
Star cricketer Devon Conway has played a great role in guiding New Zealand to win the ongoing T20I series. Notably, the Black Caps have sealed the five matches of the T20I series by 3-0, and they will be looking to win the remaining two games as well to whitewash the series to boost their preparation for the T20 World Cup 2024. Meanwhile, the New Zealand cricket team suffered a defeat against Pakistan in the semi-final clash of the T20 World Cup 2022.
New Zealand is undeniably one of the best teams in the major events, yet the most unsuccessful team to win the title. Notably, the sides reached the finals of the 2015 and 2019 ODI World Cup but suffered defeats against Australia and England, respectively. Meanwhile, Team India defeated them in the semi-final of the 2023 ODI World Cup; however, they will aim to win the T20 World Cup 2024, which is set to start on June 1 in the West Indies and the USA.
