India’s star cricketer Dinesh Karthik heaps praise on skipper Rohit Sharma after their great victory over England in the third Test match at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Notably, Team India lost the first Test game despite India having a great lead. However, the hosts made a terrific comeback in the second and third Tests against England and took the lead by 2-1 in the ongoing five matches of the Test series.

However, Dinesh Karthik lauded Rohit Sharma and called the win a magnificent one. The wicketkeeper batter feels that the 36-year-old cricketer has managed things greatly despite India not having Ravichandran Ashwin at the moment. In addition, the right-handed batter feels that Rohit Sharma has answered back to the critics who were questioning him for the first and second Test matches.

“I would say that this is a statement victory for Rohit Sharma. They did not have Ashwin when they bowled in the first innings of the Test match. That is a big miss in India. In spite of that, he has made this Test match happen. There were few murmurs in the last two Tests that he had not led the team well and at times he let the game drift,” Dinesh Karthik was quoted as saying by India Today.

“He made a strong comeback in Vizag. In Rajkot Ben Duckett made it really hard for him in the first innings, but he still found a way to comeback. Now add the others, the KL Rahul, the Kohli’s, the Shami’s, the Pants’; Rohit has led this team very well and he has found answers to questions that Bazball raised in the first Test match in Vizag,” he added further.
