‘Inexperienced England spinners have definitely bowled…’ – Dinesh Karthik makes big claim on England spinners against India in Tests

Published on

India’s star cricketer Dinesh Karthik feels that England spinners have performed well in the ongoing five matches of the Test series, despite India standing in a strong position on Day 3 of the fourth Test game taking place at the JDCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. Notably, England are trailing in the series by 2-1, and they hope to win the fourth Test match against India to level up the series by 2-2.

However, Dinesh Karthik’s remarks came after England’s young spinner Shoaib Bashir took a 5-wicket haul on Day 2 of the fourth Test match, which dismantled India’s batting line-up. In addition, the wicketkeeper batter feels that England spinners are quite inexperienced compared to Indian bowlers, despite the fact that they are performing well in the series.

“Going from what has happened, you have to say that English spinners have done better than Indian spinners in this series. This is the first time they’re travelling to India. It’s like a completely inexperienced medium-pace or fast-bowling attack going to Australia or England and doing better than their fast-bowlers,” Dinesh Karthik said on Cricbuzz.

The inexperienced England spinners have definitely bowled better than Indian spinners: Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik feels that England’s spinner bowling spells are much better than those of experienced Indian spinners. Moreover, the 38-year-old cricketer also talks about India’s spinners, including the likes of Kuldeep Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja. Notably, Kuldeep Yadav picked up four wickets on Day 3, while Ravichandran Ashwin scalped five wickets on Day 3 of the fourth Test match, which helped them bundle out visiting sides for just 145 runs in the second innings of the game.

“The inexperienced England spinners have definitely bowled better than Indian spinners in this Test. Speaking about each spinner, Kuldeep has been a positive for India, Jadeja has not been consistent but yes, R Ashwin has definitely not had his best series in India. It’s not often that you can go four Test matches in India without an Ashwin fifer or a four-fer,” he added further.
